Tendonitis is a Pain in the

I used to be a competitive swimmer. One of the cheers my high school team would do went a little something like this, “Rah rah ree, kick ‘em in the knee; rah rah rass, kick ‘em in the OTHER knee.” See what we did there? It’s one of those subtle, but not subtle, ways of getting your point across without getting complaints from parents about being too vulgar. I bring it up because this week, I have a pain in my knee, and it is a pain in the other knee.

It’s one of life’s cruel ironies that in your attempt to help avoid running injuries, you finally stop skipping leg day, and then find out that being overly consistent in these repetitive exercise activities can actually cause an injury that requires you to skip leg day. Shoulda known. I guess it’s time to go back to the bench press and bicep curls – at least until I get tendonitis in my elbows.
