When it comes to tithing, we aren’t technically obligated to give a particular amount of our income, but 10% (off the gross) is as good a goal as any, and a worthy one, I think. If you get to a point where you can give more, go for it. Setting up some autodrafts can make this easier – some to the parish and some to other organizations that further the Church’s mission in some way or another. Don’t be shy about saying, “No,” to organizations or even second collections for things you haven’t done any research on. Then, be open to helping people out in a reasonable way as unexpected things come up. Boom. Roasted.
